Sta-Kleen contains no lead or heavy metals, and is  phthalate and formaldehyde free. It does not contain anti-microbial additives, chemical flame retardants, persistent organic pollutants, or toxic by-products. Sta-Kleen is REACH and RoHS compliant, and is eligible for LEED credits for Healthcare MR Credit 5 and LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors. Sta-Kleen polyurethane patterns have been accepted into the Healthier Hospitals (HH) healthy interior goals of the Safer Chemicals Challenge. HH is a permanent program of Practice Greenhealth involved in implementing sustainability practices with healthcare organizations. Sta-Kleen patterns are identified on their respective product specification sheets by the HH logo.

Sta-Kleen creates an invisible barrier to keep the indigo dye from transferring to the upholstery. Sta-Kleen is truly cleanable, the first urethane upholstery to handle ballpoint pen and tough stains including ketchup, coffee, wine and nail polish are easy to clean. Sta-Kleen easily cleans lotions, creams and topical antiseptics that would stain conventional urethane upholstery forever. Sta-Kleen can be cleaned over and over without surface damage.
